Grenada is an island country consisting of Grenada itself and six smaller islands at the southern end of the Grenadines in the southeastern Caribbean Sea.
Grenada is located northwest of Trinidad and Tobago, northeast of Venezuela, and southwest of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.
Pure Grenada Music Festival
Grenada is also known as the “Island of Spice” because of the production of nutmeg and mace crops of which it is one of the world’s largest exporters.
Grenada is pure – untouched, unspoiled, unadulterated – and a special part of the appeal surrounding the Pure Grenada Music Festival is its quest to establish a ‘pure approach’ to the music and performances it offers.
This means an all embracing philosophy for the art form, with no filtering out of certain music genres. If it has integrity – if it is ‘pure’ music – we will include it.
The Pure Grenada Music Festival will have multiple unique venues spread around the country, showcasing the great and diverse beauty of the island.
It will feature as many local bands as possible to give their performances a window to the world. It will establish a Legacy to assist in the development of musical talent in Grenada.
It will adhere to established Green Rules in order to ensure that all festival venues remain as pure as we found them, and will do everything in its power to offset any potentially negative environmental impact on this magnificent island.

Grenada is unique, and the Pure Grenada Music Festival will offer a unique experience for everyone from the artists, to the audience, to the sponsors, to the people of Grenada as a whole.
Grenada is a musical nation, rich with talent. But talent is only the beginning.
Talent needs nurturing, it needs exposure, and it needs structure.
What does it mean to be a successful musician? There are many different ways to make a living out of music, but in most cases it’s a long road to success with a lot of hard work along the way. You need ambition to create your own musical expression.
Perseverance to master an instrument or a vocal range. Exposure to the public, and experience performing in front of a live audience.
Finding a way to work in a band. Knowing how the music industry works. All of these points are important and oftentimes difficult, if not impossible, to achieve on your own.
Music & Beyond, the non-profit organisation behind the Pure Grenada Music Festival, is committed to building a legacy for the development of musical talent in Grenada, to nurture young artists, enabling them to realise their full potential and commence the journey of fulfilling their dreams.
Nurture musical talent
Any profits realised from the Pure Grenada Music Festival will be donated to Music & Beyond to assist them in achieving these goals.
As a starting point, Music & Beyond is conducting a survey.
By asking people from the ‘industry’ – promoters, artists, government, etc. – to complete a questionnaire, they hope to find out what the music situation really is in Grenada right now, and how the lack of structures, etc. could best be helped.
This will be an ongoing project with several steps: completion of the survey, development of a strategy, funding and, finally, implementation.
In the beautiful lesser developed countries of the world, like Grenada, musical talent may be noted, but never realised without altruism, vision and a deep love of the art form.
The creation of the Music & Beyond Legacy will assist in ensuring the development of music in Grenada, especially for all those young talented musicians who are thirsting for the opportunity.
